Gold Coins! Clues & Winners!
Let the hunt begin!
Like Wonka, Halliday and now GXT, we are sending you on a quest! So let's get some of the rules out of the way....
- We are hiding golden coins all over the country. Hidden from public view but we will clearly show you where to look. You just have to get there. (not hidden in numerical order)
- Maybe taped under the Santa Monica Pier? Maybe glued to the roof of the visitor center at Mount Rushmore? Or maybe at an old Maid-Rite sandwich shop along Route 66? Who knows? We will not put them on private property without permission.
- The first coin may not look gold, but the rest will be painted. This page will give you specific directions and will stay up until it's found. I know the value of this coin and the year printed, and I took pictures of the special markings on it, so you can't lie and show me a fake.
- Find the coin, take pictures of both sides (and where you found it), and show it to me. If you figure out a clue and want another clue, email us at goldcoins@genxtalks.com
- Get it? Figure out where it is, go there, and find the coin.
- You need to leave an ugly penny in its place in case someone comes up behind you looking after you're gone. LOL
What do you get if you find one?
- Each person will receive a replacement novelty gold coin printed just for this event.
- You will receive a $100.00 Visa gift card to be used anywhere.
- You will get $100.00 store credit at the GXT merch center.
- Momma-X will send out a care package of random GXT gear for you.
- The coin bearer can get into any GXT event without charge. no tickets, no cost, and a free drink at any event.
- A free one-year membership to one of our membership-paid sites. (we pay you, you join) There is no way to just give away a membership...LOL
- AND..... After all 50 coins have been found the coin holders (only) can participate in a new $1000.00 prize treasure hunt.
- Current and previous staff members are excluded and not allowed to compete.
- Prizes to be given out after all coins are found. (might be sooner, but plan on at the end of the game)

Kel found the first coin pretty fast way out in the Mojave Desert! More coins are being hidden and more directions will be placed here on this page just like before. Directions, clues, and 'X" doesn't always mark the spot.

Coin #8 has been discovered!
After spotting a clue in a very odd post from GXT (as we left Reno) they started putting the regular clues together and then hit the road. They narrowed it down to a couple of places and then began to scour the areas. Even asking for help from staff and employees showing them the clues. But in the end, they made the discovery on their own and Gold Coin#8 has been found~!

This coin was found hidden/glued under a park bench in Sacramento. Phil's Garage and his daughter Jackie were on the hunt. 2 days of picking apart clues led them to the find!

Shannon Brigode has found coin#12! It was four hours away by car for her and she went back more than once to try and find it. But in the end, with others on their way to that corner, she got it first!

Kevin Harris found a gold coin in Eureka, CA. Many tried and couldn't figure out the clues, and some had the answers but when they looked, they could not see. But not Kevin!

They did it! One of the harder sets of clues and they figured it out! People complained because those who figured out the type of place tried to use Google Maps to see the exact sign. But this sign was put up AFTER Google's last update, so you must drive and look! One of the clues did have a city ordinance clue that could be decoded for the town. At any rate, GREAT JOB!!!!

This little coin was in a very obscure place. Honey Springs battlefield in Oklahoma! LOUDONE and SH! hid the coin and GXT made the clues! Your very own Carebrat found this one! Along with security detail of Shadowgrowlonger and Blue Knight.
